  2. This file contains notes on the changes in TURTLE from version 2.8 
  3. (version 2.9 was not released).

  5. Changes from version 2.8:

  7.   -  Support for "TWISTER" disks has  been  added.  The  "TWISTER" 
  8. format packs more data on a disk,  and operates at a faster  speed 
  9. than  normal format disks.  TURTLE will write on "TWISTER"  disks, 
  10. but  will  not format them.  The formatter is available  in  START 
  11. magazine issue #4, Spring, 1987.

  13.  - Hard disk read errors are no longer fatal. An option is offered 
  14. to  abort  the backup,  or skip the file with the read  error  and 
  15. continue the backup.

  17.   -  TURTLE is less vulnerable to folder crashes.  It now  uses  a 
  18. technique  to  "remove" folders from the folder count  after  they 
  19. have been copied.  Only folders in the active path on the  RAMdisk 
  20. are included in the count,  and all folders in the second level of 
  21. the hard disk path are counted. All other folders at the top level 
  22. of  the  hard disk path are "removed" from  the  folder  count.  A 
  23. thorough explanation is in the documentation file TURTLE.DOC under 
  24. the heading "WARNING".

  27. Version 2.11 marks the transition from Alcyon (Developer's) "C" to 
  28. Mark Williams "C".  While this makes a very slight improvement  in 
  29. performance, it should be invisible to the user.
